So... yeah. That break lasted longer than I would've had liked. o.O
Here's the breakdown for folks who don't follow me elsewhere:
- March came and went. Got some stuff done but it was mostly busy work. As much as I'd love to say I was lost in that Gamer Grind, I can't. I Did spend time on scripts, though.
- April was terrible. The last of my pups, Hercules, passed early on in the month. He was a good pup who had a long life. After that, no one in the house was up for doing much of anything. All work slowed for everyone.
- May was pretty much just trying to get back into the groove. Spent time picking at old pics and getting my various old laptops up and running with new tech running old software. Also finished this strip.
I know that's like the worst Cliff Notes version of the time between posts but that's really all I got. I wish there was something more epic to show but Ho Boy! No one ever says just how quiet a house can be after a lifetime of having a critter of some sort always around. It has done a number on me like you would not believe.
I'm getting better. It's slow but I'm getting back to the strips I'd left off on.
And so things don't end on such a Down Note, I can say that getting back into my old laptops and getting them fixed up and running again was fun. It's been a Bad Time for Tech lately at the House of Amill what with my Dad's new-ish laptop deciding it didn't like its hinge and my Note9's battery becoming a slightly spicy pillow. Having that little win of getting tech from nearly 25 years ago running better than new was just what I needed. Also finding my collection of old 'LAUNCH' CD Magazine discs was great, too.
A little nostalgia boost from a better time to lift the spirits a bit, ya' know?
Now I'm off to iFixit to put in an order for a replacement cellphone battery and MAYBE Think about finishing some new merch to pay for the few things I've bought recently. My little War Chest from a few years ago is finally starting to run low and I've got a backlog of designs that still have yet to make it on to Stuff.
I also need to go eat something and stretch and generally get back into that whole dealie. = )
Remember: Stay Safe. Wear a Mask if you need to. Get vaccinated if you can (Seriously!). Get a booster if you're already good on all that. And remember to keep your head up.
'Till next time! = )
